My Teaching Story
My journey into teaching started from a young age when I use to give up my lunch times in Year 6 to spend time helping and supporting the Reception class at the school.
After getting good grades at High School and being told it was unrealistic to try and make it in the dance industry, I chose to work towards becoming a teacher however was not a straightforward or direct route.
After having an awful time at Sixth Form and having to stay an extra year I decided to take a risk. I had two options, I had an offer for a 3 year route in to Primary teaching or I had an unconditional offer to study Theology and Religious Studies. Much to my mother's disappointment i chose Theology but this was the best decision I ever made! I achieved a 2:1 and had the best time studying. After, completing my degree I went on to do a PGCE where i had 5 very varied placements. Unfortunately, I came close to giving up as I ended up having 6 interviews before I got my job. But, this was the school for me, a school that cared so much about the children. I am still there today!
